Nature is not a place to visit, it is home
Join us this WorldEarthDay as we celebrate our wonderful planet on Tuesday 22nd April at The Alnwick Garden*.
Reducing, reusing and recycling is something that we should be striving for together and, with new initiatives to launch, stories to tell, and a whole heap of fun to be had, we’re looking forward to welcoming you for a jam packed day this Easter.
What’s on the agenda:
A visit from Annasley Park ex GB cyclist and the 9th woman in history to row across the Atlantic solo and unaided for our charity. Annasley will be sharing her incredible story and be offering the chance to take home one of her new books.
The launch of our clothes bank initiative in our attempt to create the largest pile of recycled clothing in Northumberland. With interactive activities for all ages thanks to our partners at Fundraise & Recycle. Don’t forget to bring along a bag of your unwanted clothing to help on our mammoth recycling mission!
We’ll be joined by our partners WL Straughan & Son Limited and GREEN LEAF RECYCLING LTD, a local family business who generate compost from green waste with a revolutionary process. Learn more about the cycle and get your hands dirty with composting as fresh as it gets.
In our second launch of the day, we’re rolling out our reusable cups scheme from the café. Learn all about the journey we’re on to become even more sustainable whilst enjoying a cuppa and cake.
*All included with your Alnwick Garden day entry ticket.
