Shopping at the Alnwick Garden

Situated at the main entrance of The Garden, the Gift Shop has an array of gift ideas to suit all pockets. The carefully selected range of products has been sourced from crafts people and manufacturers from within the UK and around the world.

As well as our own branded souvenirs, we stock a fabulous range of locally produced beers, fine foods, gifts, artwork and photography. Wherever possible we try to support local producers and artists.

The shop also stocks essentials such as batteries, sun cream, sunglasses, as well as umbrellas and emergency ponchos.

The Gift Shop transforms in winter into a wonderland at Christmas full of novelties. It becomes home to our fantastic indoor Christmas market, hosting up to 100 local artisans and merchants every weekend on the run up to Christmas.


Plant Centre

Visit our Plant Centre to take some of The Garden away with you.

We stock a large variety of perennials, alpines, shrubs, climbers and roses from our own as well as other specialist nurseries. Many varieties we sell can be found or are propagated from plants found within The Garden by the garden team, so you can take a piece of the garden home. We stock over 100 varieties of scented David Austin Roses including our own famous Alnwick Rose, named after the Garden, as well as our magnificent Hybrid Tea Roses found in our ornamental garden.

We also have plants from local nurseries such as Northern Arc, who specialise in growing wonderful perennials and herbs in a peat free growing medium, Perennial favourites who grow alpines, succulents and something a bit different, as well as all the garden favourites.

Advice can be sought from one of our Alnwick Garden Gardeners who are often around. They can answer your gardening queries or recommend a plant for that problem spot. The Plant Centre is open seven days a week during the summer and no garden ticket is necessary to visit it.

Our own nursery specialises in plants from The Garden. Here we propagate these plants by seed or cutting throughout the year using our own soil based compost. The plants are grown sustainably with a low environmental impact and are usually bee and butterfly friendly. We ensure the highest quality plants are grown and sold here meaning you really can take a little bit of The Garden away with you!

Annual Essential Maintenance Closure

Please note that we will be closed for essential maintenance from the 6th – 31st January 2020.

We will reopen 1st February 2020 : 10am-4pm Daily.

Please note that our shop will be undergoing a refit in January and will be reopening on the 3rd February.

Please also note that Pilates/Yoga isn’t on here at The Alnwick Garden for the month of January – Sam Kelly (tutor) is running classes from a community venue, please contact her on sam@familykelly.net for more info
