Booking Your Tickets

In line with Government guidance, The Alnwick Garden has completed a full risk assessment to ensure your next visit is as safe as it is enjoyable.

After careful consideration we have made the decision to limit our daily visitor numbers to less than 50% of our capacity, as well as introducing timed entry slots to reduce potential queuing on entry to The Garden.

You will also see that several entrances, exits, doorways and routes have changed on our site to safeguard social distancing.

We ask that you thoroughly read the below guidelines to familiarise yourself with any changes ahead of your visit:

Gift Aid

Behind the scenes of our Grand Cascade, the Poison Garden, the Cherry Orchard, and our many other wonderful experiences, there is a hard-working charity that seeks to support those in our community who need it most.

By adding a small donation on top of the price of your entrance, our charity can access additional funding through Gift Aid; a tax relief which allows UK charities to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer.

It works like this:

• You pay 10% above your entry price.*

• You receive a gift voucher for our Forgotten Garden Adventure Golf worth 15% of your entry price to redeem any time you like.**

• We receive 25% of your total ticket price from the Government to maintain The Alnwick Garden.

You must be a UK taxpayer to Gift Aid, as the Government give us an extra 25% on top of your donation, in lieu of the tax you have paid. It’s a rare opportunity for you to decide how your tax money is spent, and you can be sure that all the money received will go directly to The Alnwick Garden and its community charity.

**Only one voucher can be used per person, per round of golf.


Please ensure you arrive at your selected time with your booking confirmation. We will not be able to admit you into The Garden without it, or if you arrive earlier/later than the time specified on your booking confirmation.

  • If you are driving to The Alnwick Garden, please be considerate of those around you whilst parking, leaving or returning to your vehicle. Paying for parking will be via contactless card payment only, and you are able to park anywhere other than the first tier which is reserved for Blue Badge holders only.
  • After you have parked, please maintain a distance of 2 metres or more from other visitors and adhere to any signage and guidelines you see across.
  • Please follow the one-way routes where applicable. If you need to double back, please do so at the earliest juncture instead of turning around as this compromises the safety of other visitors.
  • Our Gift Shop and Plant Centre have temporarily relocated. You are able to visit these areas even if you do not have a ticket. Please follow the signage on the one-way system to access these areas.
  • The Gift Shop and Plant Centre will only be accepting card payments.
  • Unfortunately, at this time access to The Treehouse will remain closed.
  • There will be limited toilet facilities available, these will be cleaned every 20 minutes for your safety.
  • Within The Garden you are free to move around at your leisure, however, the onus is on you to ensure that you and your family exercise the 2 metre rule. Please be respectful of others space and safety.
  • There may be some areas within The Garden that are too narrow for two-way traffic. If this is the case please utilise the one-way system that will be clearly signposted.
  • We have hand sanitiser available across the site. Please feel free to use this as and when you deem necessary.
  • Our Pavilion Kitchen and Bakery are open.
  • Masks must be worn inside our Gift Shop, Pavilion Kitchen (unless seated) and The Bakery.
  • We will be allowing picnics on site. If you have any litter please make sure you dispose of it responsibly or take it home with you. Littering puts both visitors and staff at risk.
  • The Poison Garden will be open, but we are unfortunately unable to offer guided tours. Instead, you can learn about what’s in the Poison Garden using a QR code reader app on your smart phone, or by purchasing one of our Poison Garden books available in our Gift Shop.
  • Our swinging benches are being thoroughly sanitised twice a day. If you do wish to use the swinging benches please utilise the sanitisers available at the top of the Cherry Orchard before and after use.
  • At this time our children’s tractors will be unavailable. We will be using this as an opportunity to send them off for an MOT and a full valet so they’re all set for next season!For the safety of all our guests, only assistance dogs are allowed into The Garden. We also strongly advise that you do not bring your pet on hot days as we cannot guarantee parking will be available in suitable shaded areas. ‘Happy Hounds’, located in close proximity to The Garden, offer a day care boarding service to Garden visitors for a small fee, booking is essential: 01665 572425
  • If you have booked a time slot on our Adventure Golf please follow the signage on the one-way system to the golf kiosk (unless otherwise directed) where a member of staff will greet you. If you have not booked tickets and wish to play limited slots may be available, but we strongly advise you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Ticket types

Concession – tickets for students over the age of 17 in possession of student ID or those over 60

Child – Tickets for children aged 5 – 16 (children aged 4 or under are free)

Family – ticket to cover two adults and up to four children aged 5 -16

Carers – free tickets for those assisting someone who requires care while they visit. Tickets can be collected on arrival from admissions.

A Garden For All

If you are unable to book a slot on your preferred date or the time, please do not be disheartened as we are attempting to allocate access to The Garden fairly for all visitors. We feel that we would not be true to our core values as a community charity if we did not offer everyone the chance to experience The Garden during this time. Please also remember that booking slots are non transferable or refundable, so think carefully before choosing the date and time of your visit.

PLEASE NOTE: You can access The Garden as soon as your booking is complete however depending on your email provider it can take up to 24hrs to receive your booking confirmation email. Some confirmation emails may fall into spam folders, please check before you visit.
