We’re teaming up with our friends from Kielder Observatory to bring you a night of astronomical delights, designed to spark your interest in astronomy and the dark skies. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, you’ll be taken on an astronomical journey by Kielder Observatory’s expert astronomers and science communicators. They will guide you through your first steps into astronomy with talks and workshops, as well as a special planetarium show!
You’ll learn about stars and constellations, galaxies and meteorites and there’ll be plenty of time for you to ask all those burning questions- What is a star? How far away is Jupiter? Do aliens exist? Interactive and informal workshops will allow you to get hands on with space rocks and learn about the importance of light.
Weather permitting, we’ll have plenty of telescopes outside our pavilion room in the hope of observing the wonders of the dark skies.
