Loads going on this half term in The Garden!

If you are already missing the wonder of The Chelsea Flower show, then make sure you pay us a visit this half term to get involved in a whole host of floral and horticultural activities.

Titchmarsh step aside - Hugh Bushey Babcok is in town and he's bought two of his prize exhibits with him.

No-one knows what his secret to growing such record breaking plants is, but he is here to tell you all about them!

On alternating days, Hugh will be showing his prize winning giant leek and flower, which is like nothing you will ever have seen.

With some audience participation, Hugh will be able to deduce your favourite vegetables, demonstrate his giant carrot chopper and miraculously raise a dropping rose from almost certain death!

Come and meet Leia the prize-winning giant leek, Gardener Hugh Bushey Babcock’s pride and joy and certainly his favourite vegetable on the following dates :

Saturday 25th, Monday 27th, Wednesday 29th, Friday 31st and Sunday 2nd June at 11:30, 2:00 and 3:00pm

And also come and meet "Big Bloomers” which features a choice of Flowers: you may meet Daphne the beautiful Daffodil or Saskia the overly optimistic Sunflower on the following dates :

Sunday 26th, Tuesday 28th, Thursday 30th May and Saturday 1st June at 11:30. 2:00 and 3:00pm

 

Make your own miniature garden in our Crafty Cottage!

From a Giant adventure to a small-scale world. You can try your hand at making a miniature garden. Plan and create a small-scale garden that will get your design bubble popping with excitement on the following dates:

Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th, Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th May and Sunday 2nd June between 10am - 4pm.

 

Don't worry - Bee happy

Get your garden buzzing again and create a ‘Bee Happy’ bag. You can make your own buzzy bee as a guardian of your bag and pot some ‘Bee Friendly’ plants to start your plans for introducing bees into your own habitat in The Crafty Cottage on the following dates :

Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th, Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June between 10am - 4pm.

 

And don't forget to take a walk around The Garden following our Spring Trail!

The Garden has started to awaken from its wintery slumber, the flowers have stretched their petals and are welcoming you with their astounding array of colours. What will you see in The Garden, pick up a trail card and seek out the wonders of the nature within The Alnwick Garden this Spring.
