  • What tickets do I need to purchase for Father Christmas?

    Please find below our FAQ’s for all Christmas bookings for 2025.

    If you are wondering what tickets you need, then this is a simple guide!

    Father Christmas visits are from Thursday 20th November – Wednesday 24th December 2025.
    Includes private visit to Father Christmas and exclusive gift and entry for the child.

    If you are accompanying a child to see Father Christmas at Lilidorei, you need to have a valid form of admission:

    For daytime visits, one of the following is required

    •     A Lilidorei entry ticket valid on the day of entry
    •     A Lilidorei Membership
    •     A Combo Membership for The Garden and Lilidorei

    For nighttime visits, a Winter Lights ticket is required.

    *Please note: Friends of The Alnwick Garden memberships alone do not grant access to Lilidorei during the day.
    Important: No memberships are valid for evening visits. For night visits, all guests must have a Winter Lights ticket for the date of their visit.

     

  • What tickets do I need to purchase for the Winter Lights and how much do they cost?

    Tickets are split into Saver, Standard and Premium dates

    Tickets start from £9.50 for adults and £4.50 for children. 

    Enjoy two attractions for one price 

    The difference between these tickets are simply the dates and times. You can still enjoy all the festivities and have the full experience of our winter lights with a ticket to suit your budget.

  • What dates are the Winter Lights?

    The Winter Lights at Lilidorei and The Alnwick Garden are from Thursday 20th November 2024 – Thursday 1st January 2025.

    Lilidorei will be open from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm, but on Christmas Eve, it will close earlier at 7:30 pm. Visitors can come anytime during these hours.

    Please note that dogs are not allowed in The Garden and Lilidorei (with the exception of registered assistance and guide dogs).

  • What is on during the daytime at Lilidorei?

    Enjoy festive activities with The Secret Keepers at Lilidorei, see and feed Father Christmas’ Reindeer and venture on the world’s biggest play structure. 

     

     

  • What is on in the evening at Lilidorei?

    Enjoy the spectacular, better than before, Winter Lights at The Alnwick Garden and see Lilidorei transform through festive magical lighting. 

    Entry ticket gains you entry to BOTH The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei during the evening. 

    The majority of the play structure will be open during the evenings. 

    Please ensure that you arrive to The Alnwick Garden Winter Lights for the entry time stated on your ticket. Lilidorei can be enjoyed anytime after 4:30pm before or after your allocated session at The Alnwick Garden Winter Lights. 

     

    Please note that dogs are not allowed in The Garden and Lilidorei (with the exception of registered assistance and guide dogs).

  • Max Cards

    To book a Max Card slot for the daytime session, please contact our Bookings Team on 01665 511350 between 10am-4pm*

    *Please note that Max Card discounts are not applicable for Christmas evening sessions.

     

    Members Booking: 

    Members can book through HERE to receive discounts off their Winter Lights tickets.

  • Carers

    We offer a free carer place for visitors accompanying a guest with disabilities. Please call 01665 511350 option 1 to add a carer ticket to your booking and bring proof of entitlement with you on the day of your visit.

  • Can you bring dogs?

    For the safety of all our visitors, only assistance dogs are allowed into both The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei.

    All recognised guide, assistance, or service dogs – including assistance dogs in training are welcome into The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei. We ask that they are recognisable, with a lead or harness that identifies them as working.

  • Accessibility

    The Alnwick Garden is fully accessible to wheelchairs and prams throughout the Winter Lights at The Alnwick Garden and  The village of Lilidorei, alongside the first level of the play structure are also accessible. 

  • Do you offer Blue Light/NHS Discount?

    We don’t offer Blue Light/NHS Discount to this event. 

  • Parking

    Parking is £3.50 per car, (If using sat nav please follow NE66 1FJ or you can use “What Three Words” ///package.oasis.retaliate). There is also a Priority car park next to The Treehouse for Blue Badge Holders. 

  • Food and Drink

    There will be food vendors around The Garden, alongside The Pavilion Cafe. At Lilidorei, The Groggery and The Magic Muffin will be open for hot drinks and food. 

    The Pavilion closes 30 minutes after the last entry time and both The Magic Muffin and The Groggery close at 20:30. 

  • Refunds

    Tickets are strictly non-refundable and non-transferrable.  

  • Extreme weather promise

    The Winter Lights at The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei will go ahead no matter the weather. In the event that The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei has to make the decision to close, visitors booked for that day will be contacted in line with our Extreme Weather Promise – https://www.alnwickgarden.com/extreme-weather-promise/

  • How long will I need for the lights?

    We would allow 40mins – 1 hour(ish) for each of the two light experiences, depending on how fast you walk and if you stop for hot chocolate and refreshments around the venue.

  • Can I visit the Winter Lights before my Father Christmas visit?

    If you have booked an evening ticket for Father Christmas accompanying adults will need to purchase a Winter Lights ticket. Father Christmas tickets include Winter Lights for your child.

    Your Winter Lights ticket will show you the entry time for The Alnwick Garden Winter Lights slot. Lilidorei can be enjoyed anytime after 4:30pm before or after your allocated session at The Alnwick Garden Winter Lights. 

  • Is Alnwick Christmas part at The Alnwick Garden?

    NO. Any other platforms offering an Alnwick Christmas are not affiliated and are in no way connected to The Alnwick Garden or Lilidorei.

  • Are the Gift Shops open during the Winter Lights evenings?

    Both The Alnwick Garden and the Lilidorei gift shops will be open during the Winter Lights from 4pm-9pm for Christmas shopping!
