First UK Town Of Culture…get involved and make it yours.

After the success of City of culture for cities such as Bradford the government has decided to offer towns the opportunity to compete to host the Town Of Culture (TOC) in 2028. The prize is £3 million pounds to invest in a year of “cultural” events for one UK town. There will be 2 runners up who will each receive £250,000.

For this to work the whole town will need to be behind the idea of opening our doors to the rest of the nation. It has to be our project. So before we set out on this journey we think it wise to find out what the people of Alnwick and district think about this prize.
