We call our learning philosophy ‘Roots and Shoots’. It begins with the idea of nurturing seeds of interest and helping them grow. Our experts provide the knowledge, the roots if you like, and your learning becomes the shoots for future growth. Roots and Shoots is much more than simply a collection of courses and classes; it’s about the ways The Alnwick Garden can share its passions with you.
This is the second year of The Alnwick Garden’s Roots and Shoots programme; and we’re offering a collection of inspiring opportunities for the whole family. During the last year, children of all ages helped to create the Roots and Shoots garden; a teaching nursery within the walls of an old kitchen garden. This year we are adding more fruit beds and extending the pumpkin patch in readiness for Halloween, and we have activities for people of all ages and abilities.
