What is a Friend of The Alnwick Garden Membership?

How long does a Membership take to process?
Your Membership can take up to 48 hours to process.
How long does a Membership last for?
A full year from purchase. While your membership is valid for a full year, please be aware that our facilities are closed on Christmas Day and throughout January. Additionally, there may be instances when The Garden and Treehouse close earlier than usual, or the Treehouse may be closed for the entire day due to private events. To prevent any inconvenience, we recommend checking our website before your visit.
What is the difference between an Annual Pass and Friends of The Alnwick Garden Membership?
Purchasing an Annual Membership provides you with access to The Alnwick Garden for one year during seasonal opening hours. Please note that after the purchase, no additional offers or discounts will be provided.
As a Friend of The Alnwick Garden, you will enjoy not only unrestricted access to The Garden during seasonal hours but also a variety of exclusive offers and discounts. These include complimentary parking for each visit, as well as discounts in our café and gift shop, among other benefits.
What qualifies as a concession?
A concession applies to individuals who are 60 years old or above or students who possess a valid student identification card.
Does my Membership include children?
A child is defined as any individual who is 16 years old or younger.
An Individual Membership includes free admission for up to four children, while a Family Membership provides free entry for up to eight children, with a limit of four children per adult.
Annual Pass includes up to four free children.
Can I upgrade my day tickets to a Membership?
Day tickets can be converted into a Membership by paying the additional cost. This can be accomplished either on the same day at the Ticket Sales counter or by contacting our Bookings Team on 01665 511 350, selecting option 1. Please be aware that in order to upgrade your day tickets, we will need a receipt or booking reference number.
Can I upgrade my Annual Pass to a Friends Membership?
An Annual Pass can be converted to a Friends of The Alnwick Garden Membership by paying the additional cost. This can be done by calling the Booking Team on 01665 511 350, option 1. To upgrade your Annual Pass, we will need your membership number.
What is Gift Aid and how does it work?
Gift Aid means charities can claim an extra 25p for every £1 they receive from a UK taxpayer. If you’re a UK taxpayer we can claim 25p for every £1 you pay on membership subscriptions, at no extra cost to you.
What will happen if my Membership expires?
We will contact you prior to the expiration of your Membership, providing you with the opportunity to renew for an additional year.
What will happen if I want to cancel my Friends Membership or Annual pass?
We regret to hear that you’re considering leaving. Regardless of the reason, we encourage you to contact our Bookings Team on 01665 511350, option 1. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter further with you.

Can I take a carer for free if I have a Membership?
We offer a carer ticket for visitors who are accompanying a disabled guest. Please call the Bookings Team on 01665 511350, option 1 to request a carer ticket. Proof of entitlement must be present with you on the day of your visit.
Do I have to pre-book with an Annual Pass?
All individuals with an Annual Pass are required to schedule their visit beforehand.

Are all events free for Members?
While we strive to make all our events accessible at no cost, there may be instances where certain special events require an additional ticket purchase. In such cases, we provide our Friends of The Alnwick Garden Members with a discount on these tickets as part of their Membership benefits. Please note that terms and conditions apply.
