Lilidorei’s ‘Spookydorei’ celebrations are back bigger and better than ever.
From the 2nd of October until the 3rd of November, The Alnwick Garden’s magical village of Lilidorei will be transformed for its annual Halloween extravaganza, perfect for children of all ages. The venue is also hosting a ‘Spookydorei Nights’ event for extra fun when the sun goes down. With each of the village’s nine clan houses decked with eerie decorations, visitors can expect to enjoy a host of seasonal celebrations, with riddles, games and ghoulish storytelling taking place each day.
Throughout half term, children are encouraged to dress up and take a photo alongside their favourite clan house. All those who tag The Alnwick Garden or Lilidorei on socials with #Spookydorei are in with a chance of winning a free Christmas visit for their family.
Catering for children of all ages, Spookydorei has two trails to explore, with spooky and not-so-spooky options available. There will also be two sessions running this year, with the first (10am until 4pm) suitable for children of all ages and the second (5pm until 9pm), a new addition for the bold and the brave. Guests are also invited to judge the venue’s annual Spooky Scarecrow Contest, voting for the local school they think made the most impressive Halloween creation.
The Alnwick Garden has officially unveiled its seasonal makeover, with the entire venue transformed into a haven for autumnal celebrations. Visitors can find 200 real pumpkins throughout The Garden, enjoy an array of seasonal decorations and discover the hidden selfie spots dotted across the grounds. For younger guests, the daily Halloween duck race and autumn scavenger hunt offer endless fun.
For smaller visitors looking for autumnal excitement, come along to our special Halloween duck race – a must in The Alnwick Garden calendar. At 12pm and 2pm on October 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th and throughout half term, we welcome visitors to make a small donation and enter a duck in the race down the Sage Wealth Management Grand Cascade, with the winner receiving a special prize.
Those planning a trip to the venue this month are encouraged to pick up a complimentary Autumn Scavenger Hunt from the Atrium and spot signs of the new season throughout their day. The Halloween School of Poison is also running throughout half term, with adventure trails, potion brewing and slime making – all free for under 16s with Garden entry.
