The Garden is an inspiring resource for subjects as diverse as science and horticulture to technology and art.
Big Winter Adventure for Schools
Christmas is coming
And the kids want to get out,

And the naughty elves too,
A fun filled day out
for them and for you.
We know that one of the most important trips out for both pupils and teachers alike is their Christmas treat. This year The Alnwick Garden is hosting the Big Winter Adventure, which promises to be a magical experience for all. We have two options you can choose from:
Option 1 - During a full day visit, your visit each child will design and decorate two festive cookies with the Ministry of Food, make a beautiful plant pot reindeer with Crafty Elf and enjoy a warm hot chocolate whilst listening to stories from Buddy McJingles (the story telling elf). Finally, to finish the day each child will meet Santa who will tell them about his busy schedule before receiving a special Christmas gift. Our school packages are aimed at children of all ages and can be tailored to suit group or individual needs. £9.50 per child, £4.50 per adult (1 adult free per 10 children).
Option 2 - If you would prefer a half day visit your child will get to design and decorate two festive cookies with the Ministry of Food, enjoy a warm hot chocolate whilst listening to stories from Buddy McJingles (the story telling elf). Finally, to finish the day each child will meet Santa who will tell them about his busy schedule before receiving a special Christmas gift. Morning sessions; 10am-12noon and Afternoon sessions: 12.30pm - 2.30pm £7 per child, £4.50 per adult (1 adult free per 10 children).

Booking is essential, please book early to avoid disappointment. Larger school groups will be split and the schedule may need to alter in order to accommodate them.
The Alnwick Garden - Group Rates
- Adult (1 free for every 10 children): £8.40
- Child: £3.20
We also run programmes for school groups and garden clubs who would like to learn more about vegetable growing. The Roots and Shoots programme is taught in small groups by our expert gardeners. Schools who would like to be considered for this programme need to contact email@example.com for information about available dates. The programme changes according to the time of year and the crops in the garden.
Programmes by Special Design
In The Alnwick Garden you will find many different learning opportunities and we will happily design a programme suited for your curriculum. Programme ideas: art and architecture, water, garden history, geometry, poisonous plants, drug awareness. Suitable for Early Years/Key Stage 1 and 2, Key Stage 3/4, College, University.
