The Duchess of Northumberland’s vision is for the creation of The Garden as a spectacular venue; a spellbinding, mesmerising theatre of water and light. Many wonderful features are already here, and there are more to come. Finally, The Garden will be lit into the evening, with ground-breaking light displays.
The Spiral Garden, which will be planted on a mound, will rise to a high point fourteen metres above the ground. The path will climb through a colonnade of pleached hornbeams. This will give an aerial view across the landscape, as well as balance the large features of the Grand Cascade and The Pavilion.
At the base of the Spiral Garden, marbles of water will be shot into the air for children to catch and smash.
The Alnwick Garden Trust, the charity that owns The Garden, is fundraising for The Garden’s third and final phase of development, including the Spiral Garden. If you can help, click here.
