The Alnwick Garden

In Bloom

Snowdrops and winter aconites make a beautiful carpet of flowers by the Barbara Hepworth statue.

In the Ornamental garden witch hazels, hellebores and viburnums, and a lovely array of spring bulbs, many of which can also be bought in the Plant Centre.

The roses in the Rose Garden have been pruned to encourage growth for the new season.

There’s a lot ready to harvest in the Roots and Shoots garden; Jerusalem Artichokes, beetroot, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrot, celeriac, chard Bright Lights, kale, leeks, onions, parsnips, spinach and swede.

Images above top to bottom: Clematis 'Lasurstern', The Mayflower, Cornus kousa 'China Girl', Delphinium 'Cristella', Paeonia lactiflora 'Kansas'.
