In Bloom, March
In Bloom This Month
The chorus of bulbs has by now reached a crescendo with the addition of the colonising Crocus `Tommasinianus` (purple/blue). A group of camellias that inspire such confidence and include `Donation` and `Daintiness` are gorgeous but `Cornish Snow` (evergreen with white flowers) is the tops. As the hellebores continue to entertain us, lower growing pulmonarias start to catch the eye. Look out for `Munstead Blue`, `Sissinghurst White` and saccharata, whose flowers are at first pink then change to sky blue.

Tips For Your Garden
From Our Gardening Team
Every day there are new shoots, buds and delicate blooms to admire in your garden, it's almost as if a tide of green advances as the month does. For gardeners the urge to get outside and do things becomes almost irresistible. Use this time to plant main crop potatoes, leeks and carrots for delicious home grown produce later in the season. Prune roses and cut back buddleia.

Now is the ideal time to sow hardy annuals and divide large clumps of perennial plants discarding the centres.
