The Woodland Walk
About The Feature
The Woodland Walk provides a contrast to the more formal gardens. Spring flowers and wild garlic carpet the ground along the walk while the visitor can enjoy the views of Alnwick Castle and Capability Brown landscape from the Duchess's viewpoint. Mature trees, many of which have seen centuries of change, line the naturally undulating pathway to the River Aln. Spring buds of green promise a seasonal change, in summer a canopy of leaves provides a dappled light effect which is magical to the eye. In autumn the colours arrest the senses and in winter the magnificent structure of the trees attract all manor of feathered friends to make the walk a nature watcher's paradise.
What You'll Experience
Its here that you will enjoy the panoramic views of the River Aln and the sweeping vistas towards Alnwick Castle landscaped by Capability Brown. |
