The Alnwick Garden Plant Centre is a great place to come for a souvenir for your garden. Here you can literally take a part of The Garden away with you in the form of a plant! You'll find the Plant Centre just next to the Garden Shop, currently open 10am-4pm.

The Plant Centre has a wide selection of roses, herbaceous perennials, shrubs, climbers and alpines for you to take away. Many plants have been propagated from plants within the garden. A perfect way to remember the garden is to grow a part of The Alnwick Garden in your own garden at home. Of course you can hunt out ideas from the main garden and then receive helpful advice from one our friendly gardeners.

We work closely with award-winning nurseries from specialist nurseries within the region to ensure a variety of high quality plants many of which are rare and unique. At the moment we have a selection of reduced plants and some autumn flowering favourites - Sedums, Asters, Nerines and more. All are looking fantastic in the garden and are prime for planting!

The Alnwick Rose

The Alnwick Garden is one of the most exciting new gardens to be imagined over the past 100 years. To celebrate its creation, a new English Rose was launched by
David Austin Roses at the 2001 Chelsea Flower Show. They produced a beautiful rich pink rose, The Alnwick Rose, with cup–shaped buds gradually opening into a deeply cupped flower, later developing into a broad, full petalled, shallow cup of a soft pink which is paler at the outer edges.

The Rose can be found planted in clumps in all the corners of our Rose Garden. It has a delicious Old Rose fragrance with a hint of Raspberries.

The Alnwick Garden is more than a garden, it is a registered charity that places people at its heart, whether they be individuals or part of a community. As well as standing for contemporary gardening excellence, The Garden stimulates change through play, learning, the arts, healthy activity, addressing disability and the economic renaissance of a rural community.
