A unique new partnership

A unique new partnership between The Alnwick Garden, one of the world’s most ambitious new gardens, and Jamie’s Ministry of Food, Jamie Oliver’s ground breaking food programme, has opened its doors to visitors.

Officially launched by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales on 24th July 2012, Jamie’s Ministry of Food The Alnwick Garden aims to provide a community-focused initiative that teaches basic cooking skills to non-cooks, as well as promoting learning about food in an inspiring and fun environment.

Jamie Oliver, founder of the Ministry of Food programme, said:

It’s always an incredibly exciting day when a new Ministry of Food Centre opens, but this new one at Alnwick really is something special – what an amazing place to learn to cook! I want to say a massive thank you to the Duchess of Northumberland, because without her passion and commitment this centre really wouldn’t be possible.

What we do at Jamie's Ministry of Food

Jamie’s Ministry of Food The Alnwick Garden is a fantastic new partnership that is passionate about people, supporting healthier lifestyles and making cooking fun using locally-grown and sourced produce including produce from the Roots and Shoots Garden.
