The Alnwick Garden was designed to be as accessible as possible for wheelchair users and can be traversed using smooth solid surfaces - even the ropebridges of the Treehouse are fully accessible.

Visitors with a disability are entitled to concession prices and free access for a carer if needed.

Childrens' Activities

We  welcome children of all abilities to join in A Garden of Fairy Tales and craft activities, and necessary help or modification will be provided to ensure they are fully included.

Car parking

A free car park for Blue Badge-holders is available at The Garden just off Denwick Lane. It is advised that disabled visitors to Alnwick Castle also use this car park and enter the Castle via the pathway through Bowburn Park (the picnic area between the Castle and The Garden).

Mobility scooter and manual wheelchair hire

Free wheelchair or mobility scooter hire is available but please book in advance by calling 01665 511350. Accessible route maps are also available from admissions.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted in The Garden.

The Treehouse's ropebridges and walkways are fully accessible by wheelchair. The upper level of the Treehouse Restaurant (the Nest and the rooftop viewing point) is unfortunately not accessible to wheelchair users.

There are accessible toilets throughout the site, including the Treehouse.
