Coffee Morning - Elderberries Programme

5th September, 11am-12.30pm

Buy Tickets

The coffee morning will be an information sharing day and so far we have a number of people/organisations coming to tell you about their activities/services that you might be interested in. It will be a very informal event with a number of short talks and a number of stands for you to browse around. We are also offering tours of our Ministry of Food Kitchen (recently opened by HRH Prince of Wales) and our Roots and Shoots Garden.

If you have never been to The Garden before, it will be a great opportunity to experience it. Please feel free to bring along friends or relatives too!

If you would like to come, we would be grateful if you could call 01665 511350, option 4 to register just so we have an idea of the number of people to expect (we certainly don't want to run out of tea and cake!).

We really hope you are able to come along - if only to have a cup of tea and watch the comings and goings in The Garden!

Who will be there

Alnwick Garden Volunteers

Find out about the many volunteering opportunities we have in The Garden such as gardening, meet and greet, administration, giving tours and working with our project teams to help deliver activities to older people who are less able, children with disabilities, adults with dementia and many others. There are many benefits to volunteering, including your entrance to The Garden, discounts in our shop and cafes, making new friends, meeting many new people and attending special events. HRH Prince Charles specifically requested that he met our volunteer team during a recent visit to The Garden.

Insync

Meet Hazel and Rebecca from Insync who are offering physiotherapy and holistic treatments in the area. Rebecca has a wealth of knowledge in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal pain (joint, muscles and ligaments), sports injuries, spinal assessment and rehabilitation of everyday aches and pains. Hazel offers a variety of treatments including sports rehabilitation, colonic hydrotherapy and other holistic treatments.

Louise Parker

Meet Louise Parker who is currently setting up a new exercise rehabilitation service to help recovering cancer and cardiac patients.

Jamie's Ministry of Food

Hear from Project Manager, Sara, about our new cookery project at The Garden which will be offering a range of cooking/baking workshops and activities for all ages and abilities. Sara would like to know in particular, if you would be interested in participating in a lunch club and also, if you already have cookery skills, what activities we could offer you to enhance your skills or re-invigorate your interest in cookery. Perhaps you might like to share your skills and volunteer for the Ministry of Food programme!

Patient Liaison and Advice Service

Known as PALS this service has been introduced to ensure that the NHS listens to patients, their relatives, carers and friends, and answers their questions and resolves their concerns as quickly as possible. PALS also helps the NHS to improve services by listening to what matters to patients and their loved ones and making changes, when appropriate.

Digital Switchover

Find out what you need to do to ensure that you are ready for the digital switchover on 12th September.

Northumberland Healthcare Trust (NHCT)
